The pandemic is ongoing, and transmission precautions are a normal part of my practice to protect your family as well as mine. Virtual classes are available as the safest option, and group classes will be held outdoors. Private classes may be indoors, in which case masks will be required for all present. I am fully vaccinated and boosted - I have been breastfeeding since before the pandemic started and received a booster shot while pregnant. If you would like to discuss your concerns about COVID-19 feel free to reach out or see the ABM COVID-19 Resource Page for more info.

Let’s say you found a puddle under your kitchen sink and hired someone to fix it. They came, and turned off the water to the sink entirely. Problem solved! No more puddles, right? Well sure, but does that solution actually solve the underlying problem? Do you understand what caused it and how to avoid it in the future? Does that solution allow you to live your life as you want, with a functional kitchen sink? Or would you be more satisfied with a more knowledgeable professional who can diagnose the real problem, address it, and make sure you can maintain the solution after they leave?
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant is the highest credential in the field of lactation and considered the gold standard for care. There is, unfortunately, little regulation for the title of lactation consultant. Those who have attained IBCLC status have completed the most lactation specific educational and clinical hours. While other credentials for lactation support may be sufficient to help with some issues, an IBCLC is an allied health professional and will be most qualified to get to the root of the problem and create an attainable care plan that works for you.

I am currently offering private classes virtually and in person. Periodically I will host outdoor group classes depending on weather and scheduling. Please see the classes page for more details! Classes can be paid for up front, or you may use an insurance covered visit as a class (check your coverage here).

Before your baby arrives, taking the time to learn the ins and outs of lactation helps set you up for success. Being familiar with what is normal keeps things from feeling overwhelming when your baby is actually here and gives you greater confidence in overcoming bumps in the road. My classes give you an excellent foundation in the basics of lactation, staying motivated toward your goals, knowing when to reach out for support, and where to find it.
Taking a class with me also means you are established with an IBCLC, so if you need help once your baby arrives then you already know who to go to. Check here to see if your insurance covers a class!

Yes! I am a member of The Lactation Network - click here to see if your insurance covers visits with me! If it does, it will cover at least 6 visits, and you can use the first of those for a prenatal class. I am able to accept insurance for most Blue Cross PPO, Blue Shield PPO, Anthem PPO, Cigna PPO, Humana PPO plans, and all PNOA plans. TLN is adding new insurance partners regularly, so it is worth checking with them even if your plan is not listed on my site.
